The Drennan Acolyte Specimen Float Rod is designed for anglers who want the refined, lightweight feel of the Acolyte range combined with the additional power required for targeting larger fish. Available in 11ft and 12ft versions, both rods feature slim, beautifully balanced blanks with a fast-action tip and progressive semi-through action. The responsive tip provides excellent line pick-up, accurate float control and rapid strike response, while the progressive action allows the rod to load deeper into the blank when playing powerful fish, providing excellent cushioning and control.
The 11ft model offers excellent manoeuvrability and is ideal for close to medium-range fishing, smaller rivers and swims where space is limited. The 12ft model provides additional reach and improved line management, making it particularly effective for trotting and fishing further from the bank. Both models are suited to reel lines around 3lb to 7lb and are capable of targeting specimen chub, tench, carp, barbel and other powerful species.
