So Natural Black River is a dark, heavy groundbait with excellent binding properties, making it ideal for feeder fishing or balling in on rivers. Its dense composition allows it to reach the bottom quickly before gradually breaking down, making it perfect for deeper water and stronger flows.

Each mix can be used straight from the bag or combined with other groundbaits in the range, allowing anglers to create a tailored blend to suit specific venues, conditions and fishing styles. The ability to mix the different varieties together was a key consideration, as natural venues are constantly changing and the ideal groundbait needs to be adapted to match the conditions on the day.
With the continued resurgence of silverfish fishing across both natural venues and commercial fisheries during the colder months, we created four new groundbaits specifically designed for targeting silverfish.
Developed in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading silverfish anglers, including Des Shipp, Lee Kerry, Steve Saunders, Mick Vials, Michael Buchwalder and Will Freeman, the range has been designed to offer maximum versatility and adaptability.
This slow-acting, low-activity mix is ideal for carrying additional baits such as chopped worm and casters to the bottom. It can also be blended with other groundbaits to add extra weight, improve binding qualities and create a mix better suited to challenging river conditions.

Mixing Guidelines:
- Empty the 1kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket
- Fill a 1-pint maggot tub with water and pour onto the dry groundbait
- Mix thoroughly, ensuring the water is evenly distributed throughout the mix
- Leave to rest for 30 minutes to allow the groundbait to absorb the water
- Pass through a riddle to remove any lumps and achieve an even consistency
The groundbait is then ready to use.
During fishing sessions, warm weather, sun and wind can cause the mix to dry slightly. To prevent this, cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel. If the mix does dry out, simply add a small amount of water and remix until the desired consistency is restored.
