Sonubaits So Natural Black Roach Groundbait
Heavy groundbait with excellent binding properties, making it ideal for feeder fishing or balling in on rivers. Its dense composition allows it to reach the bottom quickly before gradually breaking down, making it perfect for deeper water and stronger flows.
This slow-acting, low-activity mix is designed to carry additional baits such as chopped worm and casters directly to the bottom. It can also be blended with other groundbaits to add extra weight, improve binding qualities and create a mix better suited to challenging river conditions.

With the resurgence of silverfish fishing across both natural venues and commercial fisheries during the colder months, we set out to create a dedicated range of groundbaits specifically designed for targeting silverfish.
Developed in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading silverfish anglers, including Des Shipp, Lee Kerry, Steve Saunders, Mick Vials, Michael Buchwalder and Will Freeman, the range has been carefully designed to provide anglers with maximum versatility.
Each mix can be used straight from the bag or combined with other products in the range to create a bespoke groundbait tailored to the venue, conditions and fishing method. The ability to blend the mixes together was a key factor in development, as natural venues are constantly changing and anglers need the flexibility to adapt their approach throughout the session.
Mixing Guidelines:
- Empty the 1kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket
- Fill a 1-pint maggot tub with water and add it to the dry groundbait
- Mix thoroughly to ensure the water is evenly distributed throughout the mix
- Leave to stand for 30 minutes, allowing the groundbait to fully absorb the water
- Pass through a riddle to remove any lumps and achieve an even consistency
- The groundbait is then ready to use
During a session, sunlight and wind can cause the groundbait to dry out slightly. To prevent this, cover the mixed bait with a damp towel. If the mix does dry out, simply add a small amount of water and remix until the required consistency is restored.

- Fine texture with a consistent breakdown for effective feeding.
- Suitable for feeder, pole, float, and balling-in fishing methods.
